Free Medical Outreach in Benin City
We recently conducted a free medical outreach program in Benin City, providing healthcare services to over 200 individuals from underserved communities. Services included health screenings, consultations, and medication distribution.
The outreach focused on preventive healthcare and early detection of common health conditions. Our team of volunteer healthcare professionals worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone received quality care and guidance on maintaining good health.
The one-day event, which took place at the community center in Benin City, offered a range of services including:
- Blood pressure checks and hypertension screening
- Blood glucose testing for diabetes
- Vision testing
- Malaria testing and treatment
- Consultations with general practitioners
- Free medication dispensing
- Health education sessions
"We're committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has access to basic healthcare services," said our medical coordinator. "Many of the conditions we identified during the outreach can be managed effectively if caught early, but can lead to serious complications if left untreated."
In addition to providing immediate care, our team also conducted health education sessions on topics such as nutrition, sanitation, and disease prevention. Participants were given informational materials to take home, allowing them to share what they learned with family members and neighbors.
This outreach is part of our ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access in underserved communities. According to our health needs assessment, many residents in these areas face multiple barriers to healthcare, including financial constraints, distance to healthcare facilities, and lack of awareness about preventive care.
