About KIID
Kingscity Initiative for Integrated Development (KIID) is a community-driven organization committed to creating sustainable change through evidence-based interventions. Our work focuses on:
- Healthcare access and health advocacy for underserved populations

- Research, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability (MEAL)
We work directly with women, youth, and vulnerable groups to ensure that our programs are responsive to community needs and grounded in solid research and data.
Role Description & Objectives
The KIID Research and Assessment Team (KRAT) is the backbone of our evidence-based approach to community development. Team members support critical research activities, policy briefs, monitoring and evaluation, learning, and accountability across all our programs.
This opportunity is open to both experienced professionals and beginners, including students, NYSC corps members, and unemployed youths who are eager to learn and contribute to meaningful community work.
As a KRAT member, you will gain hands-on experience in field research, data collection, community engagement, and monitoring and evaluation—skills that are highly valued in the development sector.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the KRAT team, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting field data collection through surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and community assessments
- Supporting baseline, midline, and endline studies for KIID programs and projects
- Participating in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities
- Recording and verifying data using both paper-based and digital tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK)
- Engaging with community members in a respectful, ethical, and culturally sensitive manner
- Assisting with data cleaning, entry, and preliminary analysis
- Contributing to report writing and data visualization as needed
- Attending training sessions, debriefings, and learning sessions
- Representing KIID professionally in the field and maintaining confidentiality of all data collected
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to ensure quality data collection
Required Qualifications & Competencies
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE (Senior Secondary Certificate Examination) or equivalent
- Strong interest in research, data collection, or community development
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in diverse community settings
- Availability for short-term fieldwork assignments and willingness to travel within Nigeria
- Integrity, reliability, and commitment to ethical research practices
Desirable (Not Mandatory)
- Prior experience in research, data collection, or monitoring and evaluation
- Educational background in social sciences, public health, statistics, or related fields
- Familiarity with digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or ODK Collect
- Ability to speak local languages in addition to English
- Basic computer or smartphone literacy
- Experience working with NGOs, community-based organizations, or development projects
